3 lessons when you feel “forgotten”

There will be points in each of our lives where we feel “forgotten”.  Even Jesus reached a point where He felt like His father had “forsaken” Him.  He knew He was right where He was supposed to be but yet felt alone.  The greatest struggle with of feeling alone is that we can lose the big picture and focus only on the moment…..

Here are three lessons we learn from the only perfect one who has ever lived:

  1.  Let your closest friends stay near.  Our tendency is to distance ourselves from those even closest to us.  Jesus, even knowing what was coming, invited His closest friends to the Garden of Gethsemane.
  2. Cry out to your Father.  You never see more of His humanness than when He cries out His father in the garden.  He pours out His heart with no fear of the response on the other end.  If you are a believer – He is your father and in the same way wants you to cry out to Him!
  3. Remember the big picture.  Ultimately, He got through because of you & me.  WE (for some crazy reason) were worth it!

Today….on this GOOD Friday – remember what He did for you and that we will never experience anything He Himself does not understand!!!

Hebrews 3:14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[f]Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
