When we think of great teams throughout time, we always think of of the great players that we remember! Their remarkable plays….extraordinary performances, amazing efforts…but I believe underlying these great teams is an ingredient that can often be overlooked. Find me a great team and I will find you a team that has learned to be put their individual “interest” aside and have learned to put their teammates first! These teams are more than just people that wear the same uniform, they are people that are sold out for something that is bigger than them as individuals. They develop a chemistry that is that unmatched and win sometimes with less talent because they are playing for the “man” next to them. They won’t quit because they want the best for the TEAM!
This is not a new concept – the Apostle Paul said, 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Phil. 2:3-4).
